Black History Month Speaker Series: "Enslaved Runaways in North Carolina: 1775-1840"

In observance of Black History Month Chatham Community Library will host "Enslaved Runaways in North Carolina: 1775-1840", presented by Dr. Freddie Parker, Professor Emeritus and former chair of North Carolina Central University’s History Department. The program will begin at 2:00 pm in the Holmes Meeting Room. The program will include discussion on Maroon societies of the Great Dismal Swamp and other communities of former slaves..
