Chatham Hospital, in partnership with UNC Health, offers the unique combination of a convenient, comfortable, and friendly community hospital with the support of a word-class academic medical center. Our team of clinicians and caregivers provide an exceptional health care experience, from the simple to the most complex.  At Chatham Hospital, we are proud to be one of just three hospitals nationwide, recognized by the American Hospital Association (AHA) for our dedication and work to advance equity of care for all patients.

We continue to be recognized for our commitment to better serving our community, including a five-star rating for quality of care from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Chatham Hospital is one of the few hospitals in North Carolina to receive such a high rating. In addition, our emergency department recently earned the Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation from the American College of Emergency Physicians. We are focused on providing coordinated and quality care for our senior patients in a comfortable and safe environment.

This is accomplished through additional education for our staff, appropriate equipment in our facilities and implementing policing and guidelines focused on geriatric care.

In September 2020, our new Chatham Maternity Care Center opened, providing compassionate and expert care for mothers and their newborns. We have three LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Post-Partum) rooms, two Post-Partum rooms, and a two-bed nursery. Care is provided by our team of physicians and midwives, who take a family-centered approach, focusing on the needs of the mom, baby and family.

Chatham Hospital has proudly served Chatham County since 1937. Its new facility, constructed in 2008, provides a beautiful backdrop for the individualized care of its patients. The hospital has 25 beds, including a four-bed intensive care unit, for both inpatient care as well as skilled nursing and rehabilitation services with our Interim Care Program. In addition to inpatient care, Chatham Hospital offers a wide variety of outpatient services, an around-the-clock emergency department, and same day surgery.

Chatham Hospital is conveniently located near the intersection of US 421 and US 64 making it easily accessible to residents of Chatham County and beyond. UNC Air Care, stationed at Chatham Hospital, is also standing by to provide direct air transport to UNC Hospitals when seconds count.
