Chatham County Schools
Chatham County Schools has 7,900 students in its seventeen schools. Margaret B. Pollard Middle School, the district's newest school, has many "green" and visionary technology features. There are over 1,300 employees in Chatham County Schools, approximately 650 of which are teachers and other certified employees like nurses and social workers. Ninety school buses drive some 6,114 miles during the school day transporting students.
Technology has long been a focus in the school district. Each high school student is issued a laptop computer to use in the classroom and at home for projects and homework assignments. All school district sites have wireless Internet access and sets of iBooks on classroom carts are in use at all schools that serve elementary and middle school students.

Community College
Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) is a public two-year college and a member of the NC Community College System. The college is a valuable component of Chatham County and employs administration that is always looking for ways to enhance programs and services so that they can offer their best to the community and their students. Chatham County campuses are located in Pittsboro and Siler City. Central Carolina has several new facilities/buildings underway and nearing completion.
